Pleated & S-Fold Curtains:
Drop (500mm-2750mm) / Width (750mm-5500mm)
Eyelet Curtains:
Drop (500mm-2750mm) / Width (750mm-4000mm)
Drop: Buying new tracks, this is the measurement extending from the top of the curtain to the bottom hem of the fabric. Using existing tracks, measure from the bottom of the glider ring to where you want the bottom hem of your curtain to be.
Tip: Please note that in most cases, the bottom of the rod or track should be installed no fewer than 80mm from the top of the window soffit.
Width: For rod curtains, this is the measurement of the width excluding the end finials. For track curtains, this is the measurement of the total width.
Tip: For the most cohesive results, be sure to keep the track 150mm to 300mm longer than the sides of the windows.
Drop (500mm-2800mm): This is the measurement of the inside height of the window.
Tip 1: Aim to measure the top, middle and bottom of the window in millimeters. From there, write down the smallest measurement and using the same process as the width.
Tip 2: Planning on installing blinds outside the window recess? Please note that even in this case, we suggest having them overlap with the recess by about 70mm at both the top and the bottom.
Width (400mm-2800mm): This is the measurement of the window’s inside width.
Tips: Planning on installing blinds outside the window recess? Please note that even in this case, we suggest having them overlap with the recess by about 50mm on either side.
Note: For roller blinds, the fabric will be approximately 30mm less than the width provided – and you may notice a subtle gap around the edges of the window.
Generally, it’s best to use curtains on bigger windows and roman blinds on smaller ones (in the same material, when possible.) This will help to balance the proportions in your space and maintain color consistency for a calming and cohesive effect.
